James Richard Spurlock Obituary

JAMES RICHARD SPURLOCK, 59, of 619 Taft St. Sidney, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2008 at 7:39 a.m. at his home. He was born on November 30, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of the late James Beckham Spurlock and Betty Maxine (Stires) Minnich, who survives and reside in Versailles, Oh.

On May 21, 1967 he married Mary Lou Lute, who preceded him in death in 1993. On December 31, 1999 he married Annette Kay Yount, who survives along with, daughters; Mrs. Lincoln (Beckam) Poling of Greenville, Oh, Mrs. Charlie (Dawn) Thompson of Greenfield, Oh, Mrs. Tim (Betty) Meyer of Versailles, Oh, and Jami Marburger of Greenville, Oh, stepson; Michael Smith of Cincinnati, Oh, step daughter; Mrs. Jason (Sandra) Baker of Arcanum, Oh, brother; Lee Roy Spurlock and wife Susan of Greenville, Oh, sister; Mrs. Ron "JR" (Anita) Claxton of Webster, Oh, brother-in-laws; Kent Lute and wife Sue and John Lute all of Washington Courthouse, Oh, sister-in-laws; Mrs. Bob (Linda) Schladabeck of Clay, NY, and Mrs. Denny (Tillie) Wilt of Washington Courthouse, Oh, grandchildren; Sierra Meyer, Kassandra and Shaun Duplessis, Dewayne and Erika Thompson, and great granddaughter; Autumn Duplessis. James was preceded in death by sister-in-law; Tina Armentrout.

In his life Mr. Spurlock worked hard at many jobs, including: operator in manufacturing, cook, gas attendant, and sanitation engineer.

Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, January 8th, at 1p.m. at The Moose Lodge, 1200 Sweitzer St., Greenville, Oh, with Pastor Jon Jenkins officiating. Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave. Sidney, is handling funeral arrangements

The family suggests memorials be made to James' widow, Annette Spurlock 619 Taft St. Sidney, Oh, to help defray funeral expenses. Envelopes will be available at the Lodge.
